OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental — Ozamiz City Mayor Sam Norman G. Fuentes extended his heartfelt gratitude to 2nd District Representative Sancho Fernando “Ando” Oaminal for his unwavering support in strengthening local healthcare services through the establishment of Barangay Health Stations (BHS) across the city.

In a statement, Mayor Fuentes conveyed his appreciation on behalf of the City Government and barangay officials, highlighting that eight barangays have already benefited from the completed health stations — a major boost to grassroots healthcare accessibility.

“These Barangay Health Stations are not just infrastructure projects; they are lifelines that bring essential health services directly to our communities,” Fuentes emphasized, noting that the initiative aligns with the Asenso vision for a healthier, more progressive Ozamiz.

The BHS project, initiated through the efforts of Congressman Ando Oaminal and supported by the Department of Health, aims to ensure that every Ozamiznon family has access to quality primary healthcare within their own barangay. Each facility serves as a hub for preventive and promotive health programs, maternal and child care, and essential medicines distribution.

Mayor Fuentes also reaffirmed the City Government’s full support for Cong. Oaminal’s ongoing health and social service programs, saying these projects embody the shared commitment of the Asenso leadership under the Oaminal family to uplift the lives of every Misamisnon.

“Ang pag-abot sa Barangay Health Stations sa atong mga komunidad usa ka dakong kalampusan. Dili lang kini proyekto, kundili simbolo sa tinuod nga serbisyo para sa katawhan,” the mayor said.

The recent turnover of the eight Barangay Health Stations marks another milestone in the joint efforts of the City Government and the 2nd District Office toward achieving a more inclusive and resilient healthcare system for Ozamiz City.
