OZAMIZ
CITY, Misamis Occidental — While
others celebrate birthdays with grand gatherings and lavish feasts, Governor Henry
S. Oaminal chose a different kind of celebration — one grounded in
compassion, humility, and purpose.
On
October 11, his 67th birthday, the Governor personally visited three
hospitals — the Misamis Occidental Provincial Hospital, Jimenez
Medicare Community Hospital, and Tudela Municipal Hospital — to
fulfill a heartfelt promise. Instead of receiving gifts, he gave them.
A
total of eight mothers who gave birth on his birthday each received ₱67,000
in cash assistance — a personal gift from the Governor and his family. It
was his way of celebrating life by giving back to those who had just brought
new life into the world.
Inside
the hospital wards, tears flowed as words of gratitude filled the room. For
many of the mothers, the unexpected visit felt like divine timing — a blessing
on a day already marked by both exhaustion and joy.
Governor
Oaminal reminded the recipients to use the assistance wisely, especially for
their babies’ health and needs. But more than the money, his visit carried a
deeper message: that leadership rooted in empathy and genuine service is the
true essence of the Asenso Brand of Service — anchored on the Asenso
Pinoy Core Values of being Respectful, Honest, Helpful, and Loving.
As
one nurse quietly shared, “It wasn’t a political event. It was human. You could
feel the sincerity.”
In
a province known for its unity and compassion, this birthday act served as a
powerful reminder that service doesn’t stop at the office or the podium — it
continues in the quiet corners where kindness meets the everyday struggles of
ordinary Misamisnons.
For
Governor Oaminal, it wasn’t just a birthday. It was a celebration of life
shared, love given, and promises kept.
