MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – In a powerful and symbolic statement that struck a chord with many Misamisnons, Ozamiz City Councilor Jun Carlo Murallon publicly declared:

“Si Congressman Ando Oaminal ang Original Mr. Asenso—diha gayod gikan ang inspirasyon sa ngalan nga ‘Asenso Ozamiz.’”

More than just words, Murallon’s statement underscored the foundational role of Congressman Ando Oaminal in shaping the vision and character of the Asenso brand of leadership—a brand now widely embraced across Misamis Occidental for its emphasis on transparency, unity, and results-driven governance.

Councilor Murallon’s message was not a political soundbite. It was a recognition of legacy—of how the Asenso movement was never built overnight or out of convenience, but shaped by years of groundwork, public service, and deep connection with the people. The term “Asenso Ozamiz,” which today symbolizes progress and reform, was inspired by a leader whose consistent focus was on putting people at the center of governance.

According to Murallon, Congressman Oaminal’s leadership style is the very DNA of Asenso:

• It is responsive, rooted in listening to the people’s voice.

• It is collaborative, encouraging alignment across national, provincial, city, and barangay levels.

• And most importantly, it is transformative, never content with the status quo but always pushing for what will bring true change to communities.

Councilor Murallon also emphasized that the Asenso movement and the brand of service is not about personalities, but about a culture of leadership that empowers local governments to function efficiently and ethically. Ando Oaminal, he says, is not just a political figure—but a visionary who taught local leaders that development must always begin and end with the people.

“Dili lang kay inspirasyon si Congressman Ando sa Asenso brand of service, apan siya mismo ang nagpuyo sa prinsipyo niini. Walay Asenso kung walay panaghiusa, kung walay tinuoray nga lider nga motan-aw sa katawhan una sa tanan,” Murallon added during the program.

The councilor’s statement resonated with many listeners, especially those who have witnessed how the Asenso framework has redefined local governance—not by boasting about achievements, but by fostering trust, inclusiveness, and shared responsibility.

In a political landscape often marked by division, Councilor Murallon’s declaration served as a reminder that true leadership is measured not in slogans, but in inspiration and action. And for him, the original spark behind “Asenso Ozamiz” will always point back to Congressman Ando Oaminal.
