Another milestone has been achieved in the First District of Misamis Occidental as Congressman Ando Oaminal proudly announced the completion of the P100 million Road Opening and Concreting Project in Brgy. San Lorenzo Ruiz, Sinacaban.

The project, which was initiated following a request from Barangay Captain Jean Macan and local residents in 2023, has not only improved access to the town center but also transformed the barangay into a budding tourist destination. Known as the highest barangay in Sinacaban, its scenic views and naturally cold weather are now drawing attention from locals and visitors alike.

“This road is more than just infrastructure; it’s a promise fulfilled to the people of Brgy. San Lorenzo Ruiz,” Congressman Oaminal shared in his official social media post. “This project ensures safer and faster transport of goods while opening opportunities for tourism and economic growth.”

The journey began in 2023, when Congressman Oaminal first visited the barangay for the groundbreaking of its Barangay Health Station. During the event, residents and local leaders voiced their need for improved roads to ensure better access to markets and essential services. Responding to this, the congressman secured funding for the project, demonstrating his commitment to inclusive development. 

With the road now completed, the once-remote barangay is experiencing a transformation. Improved transport routes have eased the flow of agricultural products, while the picturesque location has sparked interest as a highland destination in Misamis Occidental.

“This is just the beginning. We will continue to enhance infrastructure in our district to uplift the lives of every Misamisnon,” Congressman Oaminal added, emphasizing his dedication to sustainable progress.

The development of Brgy. San Lorenzo Ruiz underscores the power of collaboration between government leaders and communities in achieving tangible results that benefit both residents and the local economy.
