Manila, Philippines — Good Morning OrMin (GMOR) of 96.9 Radyo Natin Calapan was named Best Newscast Provincial at the 29th KBP Golden Dove Awards held September 30 at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.
Produced by Radyo Natin Calapan under the MBC Media Group, GMOR started in 2018 and covers local news and community concerns in Oriental Mindoro.
The one-hour morning newscast is also aired through 105.3 Radyo Natin Pinamalayan and 103.7 Radyo Natin Bongabong.
Its coverage includes local news and public information, with segments on education, agriculture, environment, livelihood, health, travel and entertainment.
Station Manager and anchor Glady Mabini said the program aims to provide listeners with both current news and practical information relevant to their communities.
The award adds to GMOR's previous recognitions, including three consecutive Best News Program awards at the Radyo Natin Network Excellence Awards in 2023, 2024 and 2025. It was also named Best News Program by the Mindoro Communicators Guild in 2025.
GMOR was among the provincial newscast finalists at the 29th Golden Dove Awards, together with entries from other broadcasting organizations, including Brigada Mass Media Corporation and Bombo Radyo Philippines.
The KBP Golden Dove Awards recognize outstanding work in Philippine radio and television, with the 29th edition covering broadcast entries aired in 2025.
Mabini anchors GMOR with Program Director Adonis Rene Soratorio and News Director Darwin Dico. Reporters and stringers Marlon Palermo, Jerry Alcayde, JJ Sugay and Ace Sapit contribute to the program's coverage.
Specialized segment hosts, technical personnel and the station's social media team also support the daily production.
The award was accepted for GMOR by Radyo Natin Manila program personnel, Production Supervisor Faith Salaver and Fatima Eltayeb.
Mabini credited the entire team for the recognition.
“Different roles, different strengths, but one Good Morning OrMin,” she said.
She added that the award shows that provincial broadcasters can make an impact through community-focused programming.
“You don’t have to be the biggest to make an impact,” Mabini said. “You just have to be faithful with what God has entrusted to you.”
