In a reversal of roles, former
Vice President Leni Robredo is now actively helping the senatorial bid of
ex-Senator Bam Aquino in the upcoming May polls, rallying her supporters to
support her former campaign manager from the 2022 presidential race.
The two were reunited when Aquino visited Robredo's hometown of Naga City after a speaking engagement at Bicol University in Albay.
In a Facebook Live, Robredo urged
her supporters to go all out for Aquino once the campaign period starts on Feb.
11.
"Hindi pa pwede magkampanya
ngayon. Pero sa February 11, start na. Start na ng kampanya. Talagang all-out
tayo, sa mga dati po nating mga kasamahan during the campaign," Robredo
said.
Although she is older than
Aquino, Robredo shared that she views him as a "kuya" (older brother)
because of the care and guidance he provided, especially during her campaign.
“Mas bata pa siya sa akin, pero
kuya na ang tingin ko sa kanya kasi noong national elections, siya ang
nag-asikaso. Alam ko kung gaano kabuting tao, alam ko kung gaano kagaling,”
Robredo said.
“Sabi ko sa kanya, gagawin ko ang
lahat para matulungan siya sa eleksiyon,” she stated, emphasizing her
commitment to help Aquino’s campaign in Bicol.
Aquino recently secured a spot in
the Top 12 in the latest senatorial surveys for the May elections.
