Misamis Occidental once again
proved its growing capacity as a venue for major regional events by
successfully hosting the Regional Development Council (RDC) 10 Full Council
Meeting at the Aya Hotel in Clarin. This momentous event gathered Northern
Mindanao’s top government leaders, provincial governors, regional directors,
and city mayors, affirming the province's readiness to facilitate high-level
engagements that shape the region's future.
The choice of Misamis Occidental
as the host for this crucial meeting underscores the province's strides in
infrastructure, hospitality, and event management. Under the leadership of
Governor Henry Sevilla Oaminal, the province has evolved into a hub for
collaborative dialogue, showcasing an environment that is not only conducive to
discussions but also highlights its rich cultural heritage and modern
amenities.
Governor Oaminal, a known
advocate of regional collaboration, welcomed the council members with a
commitment to making the meeting both productive and memorable. "Hosting
the RDC 10 Full Council Meeting is an honor and a reflection of our dedication
to supporting regional initiatives. Misamis Occidental stands ready to play its
part in driving Northern Mindanao's progress," he stated in his opening
remarks. Beyond the substantive discussions, the event also provided a platform
to showcase the province’s preparedness to accommodate large-scale gatherings.
Aya Hotel, a symbol of the province’s growing tourism infrastructure, served as
an ideal venue, equipped with modern facilities that impressed participants
from various provinces.
Mayors Atty. Indy Oaminal of
Ozamiz City, Lemuel Acosta of Oroquieta City, and Ben Canama of Tangub City
added to the province’s representation, echoing support for Misamis
Occidental’s ambition to be a central player in regional development. Their
participation, alongside national agency representatives, highlighted the
province's ability to foster an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere.
Key decisions during the meeting
revolved around infrastructure projects, disaster risk reduction measures, and
regional economic integration—all of which positioned Misamis Occidental not
just as a host but as a proactive contributor to Region 10’s development
goals. The event’s success also reflects
the Oaminal administration’s focus on positioning the province as an attractive
destination for investment and tourism. Governor Oaminal’s administration has
been instrumental in creating a stable environment conducive to growth, which
makes Misamis Occidental a prime choice for events of this scale.
This hosting milestone sends a strong message: Misamis Occidental is no longer just a participant in regional affairs—it is a leader and enabler of meaningful change for Northern Mindanao. With its stunning venues, capable leadership, and supportive community, the province is ready to take on even larger roles in shaping the region's future. The RDC 10 Full Council Meeting has set a new standard for the province, further proving that Misamis Occidental has what it takes to become the go-to location for significant regional and national engagements.
